Oru Murai (cover version) with Murali Ramanathan

This song has been in my mind for god knows— how many years!? Thanks to never finding a track, was always on a wish list and remained there. This cover has been in the making for a while now. And, it so happened that I did this song before I went into my self proclaimed singing block crap :( Although I have done some sporadic recordings here and there, I haven’t been able to record anything to my satisfaction for the last month or so! Somehow, it is just not happening, and am really happy Murali Ramanathan could get this done, so I can keep my space active :)) Thank you Murali for singing this along with me.

Probably one of the tougher numbers I have done until now. I wanted to do it in one shot, and have managed to for the most part, except for some punch ins which I couldn’t avoid *darn*!!

A few thank you’s are in order here. Firstly, many thanks to Pradip who provided me with some pointers which made me revist my initial take. Srividya— this song would never have seen this day unless you had uploaded it yourself and I knew that a track existed for this song
LOL. So, thanks for the track!

And, last but definitely not the least, George— thanks so much for suggesting this song, and this song goes out to you.

Awesome, Meera and Murali! Even with the slight variation from original, the singing has done full justice to the mindblowing visuals that one can never forget...

Listened the song ORU MURAI from MANICHITHRATHAZHU. It was a wonderful rendition more particularly when I heard after very long years. The pitch at which it has been sung by both make the song vert special. My cingrats to Mr. Murali and to you. It is also nice of you to have acknowledged the persons who have helped you to make this song possible-

I have to confess that listening to this song gave me goosebumps. The sound of the "chilangas" in the starting was very nice. It was a wonderful rendition and the slight variation in the pitch at which the song has been rendered took the song to a new level. It is particularly heartening to see you acknowledge the persons who have helped you put together this song. Hearty congratulations to you and Murali Anna!!

I have to confess that the sound of the anklets intrigued me. The pitch at both Murali and you have sung makes it very special. Lovely pace and a foot-tapping rhythm. How I wish I could recommend your name for a Padmashri :)
