Narumugaiyae

A movie which broke records for the way it had been picturised nad ofcourse needless to say-- raking up enough controversy due to the subject.

This song Narumugaiyae from the movie Iruvar has been originally sung by Unnikrishnan & Bombay Jayashree tuned by ARR. A beautiful haunting tune picturised even more beautifully by Manirathnam in the movie ( with that geva colour that old Tamizh movies used to come in!!)

Hemanth Sharma, a gifted singer (Sonu Nigam sound alike :) has rendered the male voice in this version. This has been in the making for almost a month now and finally seeing light today.

Hey,
Firstly respect the attempt!! Definitely not an easy song and its been my dream to record this someday!
Brigas very well done by both of you...but I thought you sound slightly even "more" classical than Jayashree in some phrases :)
Your voices sound nice, great output overall! Hemanth, the feeling could have been a little more though, IMHO :)
And isn't it "puravi" and not "puravai" ? (veN niRa puravi = white horse, illaiya?)
Also, "thuLaithadenna" in place of "thulaithadhenna"...

Totally loved your rendition. Kudos to both of you.

Very good performance by both of you.
Its not an easy song.
Meera's casual flow of classical twists is wounderful.
Hemanth's beats matching is excellent.
Meera's voice mixing volume could have been a bit high as Hemanth's.

Awesome job both of you. Very impressed with the diction and rendition of Hemant. This is home genre for Meera and I dont need to emphsaize redundantly how well she usually does.

Male vocals were very feeble/ flat without much emotion. Female vocals were nice but seemed to concentrate more on sounding like B'bay jayshree and also your singing pace oscillated not so smooth from gada-gada to very slow mode. In all, would get 2.5 stars on 5.

Meera, unga swaram romba azakayirundhathu... pretty good, came out well, hemant though can do with more feeling...a little flat in this perhaps?

Meera,
Excellent song rendered with such confidence and ease. Hemant too sounds great. More like Unnikrishnan rather like Sonu Nigam in this song atleast. Came across your blog and songs a couple of months back. Courtsey "kavidhai arangerum neram" that you did with Murali. You guys inspired a lot and finally I am blogger too! Have been thinking of leaving a comment. Better late than never! Keep up the good work.
