The violinnnnnssssssssssssss....................

I am sure anyone who hears this song will never ever forget the violin notes that kicks up the song.

Some common trivia:
  • This song was featured on Ravindar-- the then famous dancing star (apart from Kamal in those days ofcourse!!).
  • This movie starred Shivaji in the main role with Ambika. Thank god for small favours that this wasn't pictured on him!?! *LOL*
  • The singer Raaj Seethaaraman went off the planet after this and couple of other numbers which he rendered for IL.
  • Anyone who wants to catch Shivaji dancing can see Kaalam Maaralaam by SPB/ VJ in the same movie. Wonderful song but pathetic picturisation !!

Movie: Vaazhkai
Music by: Ilayaraaja
Originally rendered by Raaj Seethaaraman & P.Susheela
Sung by BlueByrd & Meera

Meera:

I think it was sung by raj seetharaman and S. P. Shailaja. Just check out the right info in the net.

Right from college days, whenever I have conducted an orchestra, this is the first song we opened with - playing it as a complete instrumental showcasing all the instrumentalists. It is a classica composition from IR which will floor anybody listening to it for the first time.

You both have sung it very nicely. I really liked the contrast the voices provide. Bluebyrd's voice really suits this song. Very nice !

Murali: It was indeed P.Susheela. Probably one of the few western kinda ones she has sung, atleast known to me (-;

Infact, I got the lyrics off her website (www.psusheela.org)

Hi Guys,
Well sung. Catchy tune, voices complement each other very well. Did I detect a minor mix"ing" up in the humming after the second charana?

Meera Manohar said...

Prakash-- thanks for the info. Shall change it the next breather I get! And, thnx for listening in...

Madhavan Kutty-- the minor mixing after the 2nd charanam, (specifically the start of the humming) is coz the k-track was mixed/extended there and couldn't get it to be continous!!
