Meera:

romba azaga paadirukkE. Though Bhavadharini is one of the singers I consider to be the worst among the TFM singers, I love this song. A compositionf of IR with all his rural brilliance coming afore. apdiye manadhai mayiliragaal neevi vitta oru uNarvu. Somehow bhavatharini's uncomplicated and sangathi-free voice suited the innocence that is required to be expressed through the song. You have done a very good job and I think I would prefer version to Bhavadharini's any day.

Murali-- couldn't agree more with you about this song and Bhavathaarini. Somehow, this song "inspite of her" has always attracted me tons, probably for the same reasons you pointed out.

One more song of hers which is quite nice & a little more challenging (atleast based on the ones she's sung until now) is 'Kaatril varum geethamae'. IMHO, she's done her part neatly enough inspite of stealers like Shreya Ghosal and Hariharan

Thnkoo for listening Maashae..

Meera,

I don't like Bhavatharini's voice...its too flat.! Let me tell that first.!

You have sung this song so beautifully, I've updated your list of songs now..and this is on top ! ..God..really didn't expect this to be so haunting.!!

God..I wish IR listens to this ! along with Bhavatharini!

Kaatril Varum geethame - did you like B.Tharini's singing in that..I thought IR..gave her more time than Shreya..whose voice along with Hari's is so nice in that song...and Bhavatharini ..as usual is flat !

NV sir-- thanks much!

Incidentally, I saw a major improvement in B's rendition of Kaatril Varum compared to her other songs. She was bound to get more time I presumed if you know what I mean....

And if you notice, I didn't say she was better than the other 2 existing fab singers (-:

Being a major IL fan, I sure hope IR will listen to me one day *grin*

Hi Meera,

I heard your version of "Myilpola" and it was very very impressive. I liked the way you sang the higher notes with ease.Well, I have a question. would you know where I can look for the karaoke of this old tamil song? "Unnai Kanaadha Kannum"(film:idhayakamalam). I stay in san jose and so, i have limited resources. It would be great if you can help me find it online.

hey, there is a music competition called "Galaata Idol" in which I m going to sing Myilpola tomorrow. Iffffff I qualify in this round(quarter finals), then I may need the karaoke of "Unnai..." .

Thanks
Smita

Thanks Smita for listening in.

Unfortunately, karokes in general are real hard to find and that too retail in bay area stores is next to impossible. Add to this the complexity that it's an old song.

One place you can try is coolgoose or cooltoad.com Sometimes you are lucky to find a decent karaoke track.

I wish I could help you out but I really don't have the resources staying in the same area as you :)

Good luck with Galatta. I hope to hear you at the Pallavi show as the winner in April
