Kaakai Chiraginilae goes ROCK!!!

Lyrics: Subramanya Bharathiar
Vocals: Meera Manohar
Guitars: Anup Menon
Composed by: Meera and Anup (Background track based off the background music from the movie Crimson Tide)

This is just some random e-jamming that we both did, and as is evident: my maiden attempt at composing. The 'Brains' behind creating this painstaking rock piece out of a semi-classical song is none other than Anup!!!

Wonderful work Maaann.....

I love this piece. The rock pirce and this particular semi-classical song seem to blend very nicely.

Excellent start and hoping for more along these line :)

good stuff.. felt the guitar was not picked up by mic that well in some parts of the song.. it seemed too distant some times. both the song and the music were good choices, complemented well

Meera,
Very innovative and superb attempt. Here is the comment which I put in Jo's blog:

Had to listen a few times for it to sink in.!! That's the reason for a delayed comment.!!

I wish Bharathi was alive..!! Reason: His great song..which has been sung in all kinds of raagas and tunes..!! has finally ( I've never listened to it before with such music!) found itself amidst some nice music from the Western Hemisphere! Which IMHO is a very innovative attempt by ANUP and MEERA.!

Grreeeeeeeeeeeat Job Anup / Meera.

Thanks for such an explicit positive comment!!!

This is one of a kind that we have received for this attempt, & needless to say will always be cherished esp so for future revolutionary ones...

This is a very unique attempt from all the versions of this song that I have listened to. Somehow, the music kind of takes away the yearning in this song. But still kudos to you both for a very original piece.

some places the back gorund it a little overstated........ i would sound better if the the score was a little bit understated and if the beats jumped out a bit
